Makita DHP481Z 18v Brushless Combi Drill (Body Only)
The long awaited Makita DHP481Z combi drill is in a class of its own. With a massive 125Nm of torque it will easily cope with even the most demanding heavy duty drilling/screwdriving tasks. Features include a super efficient brushless motor, all metal gearbox, twin LED lights with afterglow and an all metal 13mm keyless chuck. This is a top of the range, fully industrial tool for today's professional and is covered by Makita's 3 year warranty (subject to online registration). Featuring a 2 speed all metal gearbox with a high speed of 0 - 2,100rpm for drilling and a low speed of 0 - 550rpm for high torque applications delivering maximum drilling capacities of 76mm in wood, 16mm in masonry and 13mm in steel. A battery fuel gauge provides a remaining fuel indication and twin LED lights illuminate the workpiece with an afterglow feature which keeps the lights on after the trigger is released. The super efficient brushless motor delivers up to 45% longer run time per battery charge thanks to no friction caused by brushes and the XPT (extreme protection technology) helps prevent dust and water ingress. Twin collars behind the 13mm keyless chuck select drill mode from hammer drilling, 20 stage clutch mode for precise screwdriving and drill only operation. The unit is compact compared to its predecessor measuring just 205mm from the front to the back, has an ergonomic rubberised grip for excellent control and a long rigid side grip for steady drilling/screwdriving.

  • The Makita DHP481 LXT combi drill is powered by an 18v lithium-ion battery and the brushless motor enables up to twice the run-time of traditional motors. This two-speed drill will run up to 2,100rpm in high gear and 550rpm in low. It will deliver 31,500 impacts per minute in high gear and 8,250 impacts per minute in low gear. The 13mm single sleeve keyless chuck enables 16mm capacity in masonry, 13mm in steel and a massive 76mm in timber. Torque can be adjusted to 21 alternative settings and has a dedicated drilling mode. The DHP481 will generate 60Nm of fastening torque (soft joint) and between 115-125Nm (hard joint), the highest torque yet from the Makita 18v range.
  • There are twin LED job lights with afterglow once the variable speed trigger is released and a new side handle configuration gives light tool control. Coupled with the soft grip ergonomic handle design positive drill-driver capability is assured. It weighs just 2.7kg, and is more compact (20mm shorter) than the previous BHP458 model. Batteries and charger sold separately.
